Hello FERA members (Board, General Council, and membership at large)!
I figured that I should clue you into some goings on behind the scenes right now. Since transitioning to our organization’s webmaster (see webmaster@fera.org for questions about that), I’ve been making some big changes.
Firstly, you should see this post appear on our website. This is a way for our board to share information with everyone, without being limited to just sending out an email, something I’ve personally found difficult to manage. This way if we need to share something we can also easily publish it to the website.
Second, you’ll notice that things might look or feel a little bit different. I’m trying to make things simpler and better. Sometimes, you might catch the website when I’m actively making changes… and something might look wrong. Please, if you see an issue, send me an email (see above). It should be forwarded to my Ford inbox. If you’re a Ford employee and need something fast, I’m much more responsive on teams. I don’t really have a schedule for checking my email. I do it when I need to most often.
Third, you might notice that some things are missing. I’ve done my best to pare out the things that don’t work anymore; i.e., there shouldn’t be any more “broken” links; but again, if you see any problems, or can’t find something that we used to have, let me know.
Fourth, I simplified our backend. Some URLs you used to use may have changed, so double check your bookmarks, and message me if you can’t find something.
Lastly, I’ve added some fancy new emails, you might start receiving things from our new addresses, just so you’re aware they exist. Examples include: webmaster@fera.org, advisor@fera.org, and noreply@fera.org.
In my roadmap I’ve got some big migrations planned, but who knows where we’ll go from here. I’m also open to web enthusiasts who might want to help. If you want to learn what I’ve done, and what I want to do with the website, reach out. It’s taught me a lot doing this.
I hope that you’re doing well, thanks for all you do to make Ford and FERA great!
